If you all have been around here for a while, you know that I love me some snail mail. I prefer to hold physical books in my hand versus a kindle or my phone, and happy mail is one of my love languages. So when Basic invite reached out about Parker’s birthday invitations I was all for it. Worldwide pandemic or not, I planned to celebrate my little man turning two in some shape or fashion.

We decided to keep it very small to comply with our state’s suggested regulations, but we used the birthday party invitations to invite our parents and siblings , as well as to send an invite to all of the great grandparents for a zoom call so they could see him eat his cake and open his presents. It’s his last birthday before his little sister arrives, so we wanted to make sure it was special! Sharing the attention with everyone is going to be a serious reality check for him.

When I was choosing what invitations I wanted, they had all sorts of options. There are unlimited color combination, with instant online previews so I was able to change the colors on each element of his card to make it look like I wanted. I’m pretty sure Parker’s favorite thing in the world is playing with DIRT, so we literally decided to make that the theme. I had to get some stuff for trucks and construction to fill it in, because dirt is not actually a theme, but for Parker it is :)

We kept the party simple, since it was just our immediate family, so we went with pizza and cupcakes. Parker loved having all of his favorite people together! And all of the attention and sugar LOL

I have used basic invite in the past for Christmas cards, and will definitely look to use them for future cards we mail out. They have ideas for all sorts of special occasions, anything from 50th birthday party invitations to holiday cards, and everything in between. The custom samples are perfect for large orders where you don’t want to have to second guess if you’ve made the right selections or not. And all the different envelope colors and free address collection service helps to speed up the mailing out process, and help each card to look that much more customized!

And good news, it your theme of your party doesn’t happen to be DIRT like ours (still hilarious) there are plenty of other options to choose from, with or without places for photos! I’m very happy with the results, and mostly, very happy we could celebrate our big boy, both from near and far!

How in the world my baby boy is already two is beyond me. I can remember going into labor while working my shift in the operating room so clearly. It’s not every day your nurse anesthetist is timing your contractions, or that you have to stop pushing a patient down the hall on a the stretcher to breath through one LOL And now I’ve blinked, and we’re three short months away from having another little one in the family and you’re about to be promoted to big brother. You have grown so fast, are so smart, and absolutely one of the greatest joys in our life. Happy Birthday Parker Beckett Rayome!!! I hope you know just how very much you are loved!!
