Steel City Pops

FoodJessica RayomeComment

Looking for a new fun place to cool down with your friends this summer? Well the Louisville food scene has done it again. I first had these popsicles at the Steel City Pops at it's original location in Homewood, Alabama on one of my many trips visiting my cousin. It immediately became one of my required food stops when we traveled to Birmingham. So when I found out they were coming to Louisville, I was thrilled!

It's located on the ever trendy Bardstown road, right near my alma mater, Bellarmine. And St. Matthews is getting a store soon too!

I normally don't do these types of posts, but was so impressed by their business model and customer service, I felt like I had to share.

They have their local stores you can stop by anytime, are available at all sorts of our local farmer's markets, and you can even have them come to your personal events, like weddings and parties!

You can watch them make their popsicles right there in the kitchen onsite and they have a dangerous amount of dipping and topping options.

One of the biggest things I was impressed by was their desire to give back. This family run store has created a program called Never Thirst. When you buy waters in their stores, 100% of the profits go toward clean and living water solutions in North Africa and Southern Asia. HOW COOL IS THAT???

Overall, I was just very impressed with this little shops business model and wanted to make sure you knew they were here! Stop by and check it out yourself, and keep a lookout for the St. Matthews and Lexington locations to be opening soon!
