Oat Apple Crisp Recipe

FoodJessica RayomeComment

I have seriously been neglecting things in the food department around here lately. Between chaos at work, projects galore at home, and getting ready for my trip, grocery shopping has not been my priority! It was so nice to take a minute to just hang out in my kitchen and make something from scratch today! Seriously need to get back into the habit of making time for this, I really do enjoy it!

This recipe was originally from Taste of Home and its super simple!

Ingredients

7 cups thinly sliced peeled tart apples
1 tablespoon all purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
dash salt
1/4 cup water
1 package yellow cake mix
3/4 cup quick-cooking oats
1/3 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda

Directions

Place apples in large bowl.

In separate bowl, combine the sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt. Drizzle the apples with water, then sprinkle mixture over the apples, and toss.

In large bowl combine the cake mix, oats, butter, brown sugar, baking soda, and baking powder.

Lay out apple mixture in shallow pan, the sprinkle oat mixture over top.

Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream!

Seriously so easy, and SO delicious. I purposefully gave some away, that way I didn't eat it all myself!
